 I
have been an avid collector of Llandudno Postcards
for two years now. It all came to be when I made
the move to be by my girlfriend in Wigan back in
November 2003. When I left my hometown I began to
miss it dearly, so one day I was on Ebay looking
under 'Llandudno' and stumbled across tens of
listings of interesting postcards depicting scenes
of Llandudno's changes in local and social
history. My early collection was about 100 when I
launched this website to show my collection. The
feedback I received after the websites initial
launch in the North Wales Weekly News was
overwhelming. This has since shaped how you see
Old Llandudno Enthusiasts today!

 DELTIOLOGY is
the term known for studying and collecting old
picture postcards. The hobby of 'postcard
collecting' is very popular with many Llandudno
Enthusiasts and local historians, as through close
examination of the cards they provide a great
insight into the past detailing changes in local
and social history through both the images
themselves and the inscriptions on the reverse.
Furthermore postmarks provide unique historic
references of time to correlate with the imagery
shown.
 COLLECTING
Llandudno postcards can be acquired from numerous
sources which include Postcard Fairs, Approvals
Services, Auction websites and collectors shops.
Prices of postcards can vary from as little 50p to
several pound. Much rarer cards can fetch upwards
of £100, especially on the well known auction site
eBay. The Collectors Corner shop on Vaughan Street
opposite the train station has good stocks of
North Wales postcards year round.
